Edelweiss Balanced Advantage Fund adjusts its equity allocation looking at market trends using technical parameters, volatility and overlaying that with market fundamentals. Net equity allocation is maintained between 30-80 per cent with rebalancing done on a daily basis. Average equity levels stood at 50 per cent in 2018. Unlike traditional models where funds have lower allocation to equities when markets rise, this fund has a higher allocation of equities when markets are doing well and lesser allocation when markets are negative. Above 70-80 per cent of the equity component is allocated to large caps with the balance to midcaps. Debt portion is managed conservatively not taking any duration calls.
